Our Worship

"But  the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship  the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to  worship Him. God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in  spirit and truth" John 4:23-24.

A Time of Celebration
There is an order and simplicity in our worship to God. Worship is not about us - it is about God! The church gathers to worship God; to praise Him, to thank Him, to express our love for Him, to obey Him and to please Him.

A Time of Edification
When the church worships as the collective body of Christ, each individual member experiences fellowship with one another. As a community of believers, we are built up, strengthened, edified and equipped for greater service to God and our fellow man. We enter to worship, but we leave to serve.

A Time of Reflection
Worship in the presence of God affords us many benefits. It is a time to think, to reflect on the sacrifice Jesus made for us as unworthy  sinners, to study His word, to evaluate our Christian lives, and to renew our minds. Worship with our brothers and sisters in Christ should always be an encouraging  experience that reminds us of who we are and who God is to us. We  must remember the things we have learned from God's word, why we are here and what we should do to further His Kingdom (the church).

 REVERENCE
A deep respect, honor, and awe toward God. Reverence means recognizing God’s holiness, greatness, and authority and approaching Him with humility, worship, and obedience.
“The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom…” — Proverbs 9:10

RESPECT
Showing honor, kindness, and dignity toward God and toward others because every person is created in God’s image. Respect is reflected in our words, actions, and how we treat one another.
“Do to others as you would have them do to you.” — Luke 6:31

SERVICE
Following the example of Jesus by using our time, gifts, and abilities to help others. Christian service is an expression of love and a willingness to put others before ourselves.
“The Son of Man came not to be served but to serve…” — Matthew 20:28

LOVE
The foundation of the Christian life. Love means showing selfless care, forgiveness, patience, and kindness toward God and people. It is the love Christ demonstrated for us.
“We love because He first loved us.” — 1 John 4:19

COMPASSION
Having a caring heart that notices the needs, struggles, and pain of others and responds with mercy and kindness. Compassion reflects the heart of Jesus, who showed care for the hurting and the overlooked.
“Be kind and compassionate to one another…” — Ephesians 4:32

• Prayer

A. C. T. S. - Adoration - Confession - Thanksgiving - Supplication

The Bible exhorts us to "Pray without ceasing" (1 Thessalonians 5:17)

• Singing

We practice what the early church did in their praise to God, Acappella singing. "Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord" (Ephesians 5:19). "Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord" (Colossians 3:16).  

• Lord's Supper 

The Lord’s Supper is a feast, a memorial, and a remembrance honoring our Lord. In 1 Corinthians 11:23–26, Paul reminds the church that he received from the Lord what he also delivered to them: on the night Jesus was betrayed, He took bread, gave thanks, broke it, and said, “This is My body which is broken for you; do this in remembrance of Me.” After supper, He took the cup and said, “This cup is the new  covenant in My blood. This do…in remembrance of Me.” Each observance proclaims the Lord’s death until He comes. In Matthew 26:26–29, we see Jesus Himself instituting this memorial during the Passover meal, giving bread to represent His body and the cup of the fruit of the vine to represent His blood shed for the remission of sins. Acts 20:7 describes the disciples gathering on the first day of the week to break bread.

• Giving (Free-Will Offering)

 "Now concerning the collection for the saints, as I directed the churches of Galatia, so you are to do as well. On the first day of every week, each of you is to put aside and save as he may prosper, so that no collections need to be made when I come " (1 Corinthians 16:1-2). "Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver"

(2 Corinthians 9:7) 

• Preaching

 2 Timothy 4:1-5 commands us to "...preach the word; be ready in season and out of season..."(Hebrews 4:12; 2 Peter 1:2-3) 

• Invitation

 At the close of each sermon, an invitation is offered to anyone who wishes to respond to the gospel of Christ. This is the opportunity to express your faith in Jesus by repenting of your sins, confessing Christ  and be buried with Him in the watery grave of Baptism to be added to the church as part of the body of Christ. Anyone requesting the prayers of the church can make that acknowledgement during the invitation. 

• Live Faithful Until Death

 We are to follow in Jesus' footsteps. He left an example for us to imitate. For you have been called for this purpose, since Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example for you to follow in His steps (1 Peter 2:21). We are striving for that crown of life and to live eternally with Christ in that holy city called Heaven (Revelation 2:10).
